Luc FOISY

Born in Abitibi on June 3 1955, leaving the region early on with his family to settle in Montreal. The coutryside resurfaced a few years later when he settled in rural Tingwick in the Bois-Francs region.

He began by painting with oils used primarily outside. He chose to paint in studio with acrylics allowing him to experiment with subjects that inspired him. The varnish he uses can become so glossy, it can be confused with enamel. The overlapping of enamel and paint allow each medium to influence the other and the result is surprising and magical.
