Marcel Courtemanche started out as an art dealer a little by chance. Before it was divided into two distinct entities, his business was exclusively centered around photography and framing. « It is while framing the canvases brought to me by various artists that the idea of gathering some of them for display came to me." The Courtemanche Art Gallery represents some of the best contemporary Québec artists, such as Normand Hudon, Christian Deberdt, Catherine Péloquin, Luigi Tiengo, André Van Melle and Alexis-Martin Courtemanche. The gallery, which is located at 820, Principale Street West, on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in Magog (next to the SAQ), is comprised of nine exhibition rooms on two floors where you will find an impressive collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures and etchings. The RC Studio was founded in 1947 by Marcel's father, the photographer Robert Courtemanche. Marcel now offers framing services under the RC Studio banner and a permanent display of art works, as well as passport photos and laminating services.
